Armia Krajowa (AK) - Polish Home Army

Armia Krajowa (AK) - Polish Home Army

No Rift. No factories. Limited resources. The Home Army (Armia Krajowa) fights from Warsaw's ruins with salvaged enemy weapons, an underground science cell that understands Rift-energy at its foundations, and an AI architecture designed by the man who laid the foundations for breaking Enigma. What AK lacks in industrial capacity it compensates through unparalleled intelligence and exceptional minds — recovering Rift technologies from across the battlefield and adapting them to meet demands that limited manufacturing cannot. Foundational Rift-energy theory from a physicist who worked directly on the Manhattan Project, intelligence shared by British allies, a clandestine link to Japanese military, and data gathered from infiltrating Axis death camps allow AK to reverse-engineer, modify, and combine Rift-tech recovered from across the battlefield — held together using conventional and civilian parts. Having experienced the horrors of reanimated dead and the genetically mutilated monsters walking Warsaw's streets, AK not only rejects the notion of turning their own people into such monstrosities, but actively tries to eradicate them using specialised Monster Hunter squads equipped with biological counter-weapons. Unable to manufacture powered armour and rarely able to recover intact examples from the battlefield, AK compensates with the Oko visor — an AI-integrated optical system that gives every guerrilla soldier sharpened situational awareness and targeting. The same AI architecture powers AK's weapon systems and drives its autonomous walkers and crawlers AK uses in place of heavy vehicles outside of their manufacturing capabilities. Lacking heavy units, AK relies on guerrilla warfare, swift movements and surprise attacks.

Tasha Reeves

Tasha Reeves

Tasha Reeves is the track team's star sprinter and the emotional architecture of The Athletes — the one who remembers every birthday, smooths every locker room feud, and fills the silence after a loss with something warm enough to feel like belonging. She is fast in every sense: quick to laugh, quick to read a room, quick to absorb whatever the people around her need. Beneath that warmth runs a competitive streak like a current — she does not lose gracefully, and she does not ask for help. The two impulses coexist in her with a practiced, exhausting precision. Lately, something has been slipping. Tasha has been losing time — not dramatically, not in ways she can explain to anyone — just small gaps where her memory skips like a scratched track, stretching seconds into minutes she can't account for. She frames it as training fatigue, dehydration, the accumulated weight of a heavy semester. She is fluent in the language of pushing through. What she is less fluent in is stopping long enough to notice that the gaps are getting bigger. She is the person Zack Holloway tells things to. That alone makes her dangerous — not because she would use what she knows, but because the world of The Elites is one where being trusted with secrets is indistinguishable from being used as a vault. Tasha holds Zack's inner life with genuine care, but care has never been a shield. On a campus where information is currency and vulnerability is leverage, she is sitting on a fortune she doesn't know she has.

Mara Chen

Mara Chen

Mara Chen is a first-generation scholarship student from a working-class background — the kind of person who learned early that attention is a survival skill. She moves through Aldermere quietly, a low hum beneath the noise of louder personalities, but sharp-eyed in a way that unsettles people who bother to notice. She notices *everything*: the micro-shift in a room's temperature when someone lies, the way certain faces tighten around certain names, the feeling that the campus's polished surface has a seam running through it that no one else seems to want to find. She works a campus job to cover what her scholarship doesn't, and that grounding — the early starts, the hours spent invisible in spaces others take for granted — has made her fluent in the texture of the institution in ways that legacy students simply aren't. Within The Underdogs, Mara occupies a particular gravity. She is their unofficial conscience — not a loudmouth, not a ringleader, but the person whose silence carries weight and whose rare, measured words tend to land like stones in still water. She holds the group's moral center not by declaring it but by embodying it: by being the one who asks *why* when everyone else has already moved on, by refusing to let small injustices dissolve into background noise. Her loyalty to the people she trusts runs deep and cellular, the kind forged in the shared frequency of those who have always had to fight for the same breath of air. Beneath the quiet exterior, Mara carries a building unease. Something on campus doesn't track — the favors moving in the wrong directions, the silences in the wrong places, the way certain questions seem to make certain people uncomfortable in ways that feel less like embarrassment and more like fear. She hasn't named it yet. But she's close. And that quality — the refusal to unsee what she's already seen — makes her, in a world built on others not paying attention, quietly and entirely dangerous.
