Codex Documents
The Codex app in the Media tab generates comprehensive PDF documents from your world's canon and entities. Codex documents combine formatted text, images, and structured content into a polished, exportable reference.
What it does
A codex pulls together selected canon entries and entities into a single document organized by your chosen structure. You can scope it to a specific timeline period, pick which content to include, and choose how it is organized. The result is a formatted PDF with images.
When to use it
- You need a reference document for your world — a series bible, campaign guide, or study guide
- You want to create a player handout for a tabletop RPG session
- You need a polished PDF to share with collaborators, publishers, or visitors
How to use it
- Go to the Media tab — Select the Codex app
- Choose a timeline period — Scope the document to a specific era, or use all content
- Select content — Pick whether entities and canon should be incluedd
- Choose organization — Decide how to structure the document (by category, timeline, etc.)
- Generate the PDF — Sojen creates a formatted document with text and images
Tips and best practices
- Use timeline periods to generate era-specific codex documents rather than including everything
- The more images you have generated for entities and canon, the richer the codex will look
