How to Create a Codex Document
This guide walks you through generating a codex document — a comprehensive PDF that compiles your world's entities, canon, and images into a formatted reference.
Prerequisites
- A Sojen world with canon entries and entities
- Generated images for entities and canon (optional but recommended for a richer document)
Steps
-
Go to the Media tab — Select the Codex app from the media options.
-
Choose a timeline period — Scope the codex to a specific era or phase of your world. You can also include all content if you want a complete compendium.
-
Select entities and canon — Pick whether entities and canon should be included in the document. You do not have to include everything.
-
Choose organization structure — Decide how the document should be organized: by category, by timeline, or by another structure that fits your needs.
-
Generate the codex — Click Generate. Sojen creates a formatted PDF with text, images, and structured sections.
-
Review and export — Review the generated document and download the PDF.
What to do next
- Generate Images — Add more visuals to make future codex documents richer
- Create Canon Entries — Expand the content available for codex generation
- Set Up Your Timeline — Organize content by era for scoped codex documents
