AI Assistant
Sojen includes two types of AI: an Assistant that you can brainstorm with and that can generate recommendations, and a Writer that creates narrative content like entity descriptions, canon entries, and story arcs.
What it does
The AI Assistant adapts to your world's tone and content. You can chat with the AI Assistant in that tab, but it also appears on pages like entity detail, where you can ask it to edit the contents.
The AI Assistant suggests new entities and canon, helps maintain consistency, and is there to help you make creative decisions. It has multiple modes — switching modes tells the AI your intent so it can respond appropriately.
Create Mode is specifically for document-type outputs such as treatments, shot lists, scripts, character sheets, synopses, and handouts. These are created as media in the Media tab, not as long text in chat. The AI asks clarifying questions and then generates the document when you click Generate.
Imagine Mode is specifically for brainstorming ideas.
Ask Mode is for questions. The AI will not take any actions but will answer any questions you might have.
Instruct Mode is for times when you have a specific request to make and don't require a lot of back-and-forth. The AI will take your chat as an instruction to act.
When to use the AI Assistant
- You want to brainstorm ideas for your world
- You need help fleshing out an entity or canon entry
- You need to generate a document like a treatment or character sheet
How to use it
- Open AI Assistant Chat — The AI Assistant is available in the main tab and on many pages
- Choose a mode — Select the mode that matches your intent (Instruct, Imagine, Create, etc.)
- Describe what you need — The AI adapts its guidance to your domain and terminology
- Review suggestions — Accept, modify, or reject what the AI proposes
- Use Create Mode for documents — Switch to Create Mode when you need a structured output like a treatment or script
Tips and best practices
- The AI recognizes your domain from context — use your natural terminology (RPG terms, fiction terms, education terms)
- Treatments, scripts, and similar documents should be generated via Create Mode, not written out in chat
- The AI cannot currently generate images — use the Images tab on entity or canon pages for visuals
