Entities
Entities are the building blocks of your world. An entity is any person, creature, location, object, group or artefact that exists in your story universe.
What it does
Entities give you a structured way to define what exists in your world. Each entity has a detail page with descriptions, attributes, AI-generated images, relationship links, and a chat interface for talking with character entities in character.
When to use it
- You need to define a new character, location, or important object
- You want to generate a visual representation of something in your world
- You want to track how characters relate to each other
- You want to test a character's voice by chatting with them in character
- You want to define systems, like types of magic, tribes or resources
How to use it
- Go to the Entities tab — Click Create Entity
- Describe your entity — Provide details about the character, location, or object. The AI helps refine the description.
- Review connections — The AI runs a consistency check and suggests relationships to existing entities
- Generate images — Go to the Images tab on the entity detail page to create visuals
- Link to canon — Connect the entity to canon entries where it appears
Tips and best practices
- Entity types include people, creatures, locations, objects, and concepts
- Create your own entity types that suit your goals. You might want to add a 'magic' type of entity for a game world, for example
- Generate images so they are available when you create comics or codex documents. Most media creation will use the primary image you select for an entity
- Use the in-character chat to develop a character's voice before writing scenes with them. Click the 'chat' tab for a specific entity to chat with it
